As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient procurement of goods, working closely with vendors, and maintaining inventory levels.
Summary
The buyer is responsible for vendor relations for the site. Directs coordinates, and performs raw materials management duties including vendor management, sourcing, price negotiations and inventory control. Processes purchase requisitions for MRO items.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Miscellaneous clerical work to maintain organization and processes
- Establishes and implements strategies to minimize the total cost of materials while maximizing vendor service and accounting control. Administrative support for all Branch functions within the scope of Buyer Planner responsibilities
- Negotiates with suppliers to establish prices and terms
- Regularly meets with vendor representatives to review supplier performance, set performance goals and collect intel on market cost driver trends
- Occasionally meets with the General Manager to inform and advise on inventory levels, slow moving inventory and project status, price increases, and misc. issues with raw material.
- Establishes, maintains and adjusts safety stock levels based on demand
- Research suppliers, requests sample materials and sources materials based on RFQ requirements provided by Engineering and salespeople.
- Manages/conducts and is responsible for accuracy and timely monthly cycle counts, and quarterly/annual physical inventory, and assist with daily cycle counts.
- Work with Warehouse Supervisor, responsible for accurate receiving and storage of raw materials and receiving in inventory in the system accurately.
- Negotiates price and manages sale and logistics of recycled materials
- Coordinates disposition, logistics and costs for the disposition of waste materials.
- Materials planning using ERP systems to identify needs, processing and tracking of purchase orders for raw materials, manufacturing supplies and maintenance supplies
- Inventory master records maintenance and processing of reconciliation entries
- Invoice management and management of discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Or 1-3 years of relative experience.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
