Maintenance Technician

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform machine repairs within the work order and preventive maintenance systems

2. Locate machine parts and components within the maintenance inventory system.

3. Assist in troubleshooting in all areas of manufacturing

4. Replace minor machine parts or components.

5. Replace minor electrical machine components

6. Perform basic alignment and calibrations.

7. Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.

8. Inform appropriate employees of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.

9. Work within filing systems including work requests, catalogs, drawings and technical manuals.

10. Maintain company required machine and equipment records

11. Participate in facility housekeeping and remain alert to potential hazardous conditions and situations.

12. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong technical aptitude.

Understanding and knowledge of common hand and power tools.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Strong time management skills required.

Must be able to work well individually and in a team environment.

Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent required

1-2 years of experience in electrical / mechanical field.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, preventative and repair maintenance of machines, tools and equipment; the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings, grounds and utility systems of the Branch location; maintaining a clean and safe working environment in accordance with AEC policies, principles, and established procedures.

Newly hired individuals must have a Pre-Employment Physical, Drug & Alcohol Test, and Audiogram. Satisfactory test results are a condition of continued employment. After successful completion of the trial or probationary period, the employee must continue to meet the conditions of this job or be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination or removal from the position.
