Job Title: Plant Manager
Reports To: General Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
The Plant Manager directs purchases of raw materials and distribution of finished goods, directs effective and efficient production, improves production processes of the manufacturing plant for quality and safety, and properly utilizes all personnel by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with American Excelsior Corporate policies, principles, and procedures.
- Develops and implements plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees including incentives and promotions.
- Purchase and Manage inventory levels of raw materials in accordance with American Excelsior Corporate policies, principles, and procedures.
- Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
- Reviews operations and works with upper and subordinate management personnel to enhance American Excelsior Company operations.
- Prepares budgets and supplies information to superiors.
- Organizes and administers positive attitudes among employees by maintaining a safe work environment, establishing employee events, incentive programs, or other means of keeping up employee morale.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise associates in Production departments, Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include the overseeing of planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
I. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in leadership or management; minimum of a HS or GED with 5 years of management supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and customary business documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Fluency in English, both written and oral, is required.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information. Ability to read and understand Profit and Loss Statements, Budgets, and general Production planning information.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
