The Cyber Security AppSec team will be maturing some existing processes related to SAST, API's, App Risk, and Threat Modeling. The team will be using the Agile methodology and moving fast. The DevSecOps engineer will collaborate with other peers and Architects to support these different work streams. The candidate should be a college graduate with a degree in Cyber Security from accredited college, possess some knowledge of scripting and / or programming, and expect to work remotely. The candidate is expected to act with the utmost integrity and professionalism, as she / he will be a member of the AppSec team.
What You’ll Do :
Under the supervision of the AppSec manager, responsibilities can include, but are not limited to :
Develops automations as needed.
Supports SAST and SCA tools and processes.
Collaborates with the DevOps team and various AppDev teams as needed.
Performs Open-Source Risk Assessments.
Performs Threat Modeling.
Supports the API Security program.
Participates in any AppSec Proof of Concepts and tool evaluations
Supports the AppSec Champions program as needed.
Assists the AppSec team by reviewing and updating Amex GBT Security Policies, Standards, and Procedures.
Assists the AppSec team with metrics definition and collection.
What We’re Looking For :
Bachelor’s degree related to Cyber Security; masters preferred.
5 years in Cyber Security.
Knowledge of a programing language such as JAVA, JavaScript, or Python.
Ability to code or script in Python, Bash or other.
Strong working knowledge of CI / CD tools, e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ADO.
Strong working knowledge of AWS, Azure.
Strong working knowledge of IaC.
Strong working knowledge of APIs.
Strong working knowledge of Threat Modeling.
Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 for APIs, Web, AI.
Knowledge of Penetration Testing.
Knowledge of a SIEM, Networking, AI security, Security Frameworks, SQL and Databases.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Jira, Confluence.
A Cyber Security related certification is preferred, GCSA, GPYC, GWAPT, GWEB.
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies.

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $70,000 to $140,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
