Position Overview:
The Medical Director will play a crucial role in overseeing clinical operations, ensuring compliance with medical standards, and providing leadership to our medical staff. This position requires part-time clinical work while also managing administrative and supervisory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced urgent care setting.
- Supervise laboratory operations – Certified laboratory director or complete required training for certification. Ensure compliance with all regulations for a moderately complex lab.
- Oversee clinic operations to maintain efficiency and quality patient care.
- Conduct chart reviews, follow-up management, and policy enforcement to ensure best practices.
- Support Clinic Administrator to ensure the clinic is adequately stocked with necessary equipment, supplies, and medications to provide optimal patient care.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records, retraining staff physicians as needed.
- Interview, hire, and train new providers and staff to build a strong clinical team.
- Collect and analyze Quality Assurance (QA) data, providing feedback to providers.
- Oversee Occupational Health and Travel Medicine Programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned to enhance clinic operations and patient care.
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine (with at least 1 year of ER or Urgent Care experience).
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage staff, patients, and families.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude to foster a welcoming environment.
- Active and current medical licensure in Tennessee, along with a DEA number and state-controlled substance certification (as required).
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a dynamic medical setting.
