Your Role as a Medical Assistant
Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in patient care, supporting our licensed providers and ensuring a seamless experience for all patients. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities
- Obtaining patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit
- Preparing patients for physical exams
- Explaining procedures and treatments to patients
- Ensuring all ordered tests are performed accurately and promptly
- Administering prescribed medications and treatments
- Performing blood draws and lab tests for in-house and reference lab processing
- Conducting drug screening procedures following regulations
- Documenting patient immunizations and administering vaccines
- Coordinating physician referrals and pre-certifications when needed
- Maintaining exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, and managing supplies
- Accurately documenting patient care and responding to lab messages
- Assisting with other duties as assigned
- Previous Medical Assistant experience with certification
- A strong team player with excellent critical thinking skills
- Ability to anticipate patient and provider needs
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
