Objectives: Lead, manage, train, and develop fitness & personal training team members with direction from the Fitness Manager according to the companys Mission, Vision, Service Standards, and Business philosophy in order to continually provide optimal performance for net Personal Training Revenue and net member growth, retention, and club profitability.
Reports to: Fitness Manager & General Manager
Criteria:
At least one year of Personal Training experience (preferably with American Family Fitness) and a proven track record of success in developing a clientele and hitting monthly revenue goals
Proficient oral, written, and technology communication (email/texting) skills
Knowledge of business software and Microsoft Windows/Office
A dynamic, outgoing personality
As an AFF team member, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To Get & Keep Members.
- Drive positive year over year Personal Training Revenue, Profit and achieve/exceed monthly goals.
- Drive growth & profitability of the AFF Team/Small Group Training(s) Program to maximize member engagement and exceed monthly goals.
- Implement, market and manage AFF Team/ Small Group Training program(s) and all coaches involved to ensure success of the program(s) as measured by member engagement and monthly revenue targets.
- Serve as backup to the duties of the Fitness Manager in their absence. This role is designed as a portion of a succession plan to the position of Fitness Manager should that position become available somewhere in our network.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by hiring, training, and maintaining a proactive, efficient, professional, and friendly team.
- Embrace and follow the company Service Standards, the guidelines outlined in the AFF training and policy manuals and any applicable department specific team handbooks.
- Oversee and manage the AFF Fusion program to include program implementation, marketing, staff development, weekly meetings, and ongoing staff education.
- Conduct Fitness Assessments and make professional recommendations for member programming to include options such as personal training, small group training, team training, group exercise classes, AmFamU, cardio coaching and other AFF offerings.
- Develop and manage the Fusion schedule to ensure optimal class offerings at ideal times.
- Respond to member concerns and/or comments in a timely and professional way.
- Schedule the fitness team to provide appropriate coverage based on the needs established by the club/company leadership team.
- Maintain open and honest communication with the leadership team and company personnel; partner together as fitness professionals. Respond within 24 hours to all time-sensitive email, text, and/or phone requests.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate department goals on a regular basis in partnership with Fitness Manager.
- Participate actively in all club, department, and company meetings. Inform the team and club members of developments, promotions, activities, and upcoming events within the club and throughout the organization.
- Coach, teach, educate, and support the team to be successful in their roles and to meet the goals set in partnership with the GM and the Fitness Manager.
- Perform administrative duties, and complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Help to integrate fitness programming and group exercise programs.
- Maintain established parameters for safety and cleanliness on the fitness floor with Fitness Counselors.
- Perform daily walk-through of club and report any maintenance issues to appropriate person/tracking system.
- Monitor and maintain maintenance log, inputting new maintenance issues daily.
- Align with company and industry guidelines for safe and effective exercise and always deliver appropriate modifications; ensure instructor/trainer/coach teams do the same.
- Ensure schedules are accurately posted online and in print at least one week prior to the start of the month.
- Accurately enter all program attendance and club traffic data regularly in appropriate locations.
- Monitor class performance while working with the Fitness Manager to make adjustments that continually improve attendance, instructor success, and member satisfaction, including wearable technology.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
