Description
Objectives: Coaches help campers to play their best individually or as a team. They are experts on the rules, strategies, and techniques of their sports. Coaches must also know about sports equipment, physical fitness, and safety. To guide 2-13 years old members through fun and dynamic activities; and to provide exceptional customer service by going above and beyond for both youths and adults.
Reports to: Kidzone Manager
Criteria:
- CPR and AED Certification
- Proficient oral, written, and technology communication (email/text) skills
- Previous experience in a camp setting or other successful experience working with children in a group setting
- Available during all day camp hours
- Proficient knowledge of their sport and ability to demonstrate skill and teaching proficiency in that sport (Sports Camp)
As an AFF team member, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- To Get & Keep Members.
- Perform duties according to the companys Mission, Vision, Pillars of Success, Service Standards, and Business philosophy, and continually provide optimal performance for net member growth, retention, and club profitability.
- Provide the highest quality of customer service to all members by greeting them with a welcoming, friendly, energetic, and positive attitude always. Use members names as often as possible.
- Embrace and follow the company Service Standards, the guidelines outlined in the AFF Training and Policy Manuals, and any applicable department-specific team handbooks.
- Know the clubs emergency response protocol and be prepared to act. Exercise sound judgment with safety as a priority.
- Arrives on time for camp (preferably 10 minutes prior to the scheduled camp time) and stays after camp to answer any questions for members.
As a Youth Camp Coach, additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Informs the coordinator of any equipment needs or malfunctions.
- Actively participate in all department and club meetings.
- Be a team player by contributing to both club and organizational goals.
- Maintain open and honest communication with the team, partnering together as fitness professionals.
- Remember that he/she is a role model.
- Ensure a safe, positive, and fun environment for all campers.
- Provide on-site supervision during camp hours.
- Attend and participate in pre-camp orientation.
- Provide positive public relations with parents and campers.
- Work with campers to develop appropriate skill progression, drills, and games for all activities selected.
- Manage participant behavior.
- Supervise children during drop off and pick up.
- Conducts sign in, roll call, and sign out with all campers assigned to your group each day for each camp session.
- Communicate openly with KZ Manager as needed or appropriate.
- Inspect activity spaces for hazards, report hazards, and adjust programs accordingly.
- Provide a fun, energetic and safe environment for participants.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
