Primary Accountabilities
Develop experience to ensure business is placed and processed including preparing submission information, initiating policy changes and managing policy documentation.
Analyze submissions to make decisions based on individual risk characteristics for less complex risks or placements while working with a limited group of carriers or risk types
Develop skills to use underwriting guidelines to ensure compliance with authority levels and state regulation. Review relevant underwriting information for less complex risks and gains experience with complex coverages.
With guidance, prices business according to insurance company underwriting and pricing guidelines.
Handle new and renewal placement process including rating or submitting to insurance company, negotiating with sales/service team and/or company, obtaining updated customer information and preparation of presentation and proposal/quotation materials.
Work with internal staff or carriers to resolve questions and issues related to applications or policies issued by our vendors or to obtain guidance on more complex coverages.
Under guidance, works with the field to understand the customers` needs and determines acceptability of partner insurance coverage based on underwriting guidelines or rules that best meet the needs of the customer. Provide guidance on placement of business.
Services accounts as requested by team members or agents.
Be a back up contact for (calls, emails, chats) and resolution for quoting and online binding service issues, requests, procedures, and billing/account information.
May complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience.
Specialized Skills Requirements
Demonstrated experience providing customer-oriented solutions or service.
Demonstrated experience using PC software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Demonstrated experience in property/casualty sales, underwriting or complex policy processing for excess and surplus or specialty personal lines products.
Basic knowledge and application of underwriting processing and servicing for excess/surplus coverages for admitted and non-admitted carriers.
Basic knowledge of brokerage insurance carrier placement processes and services.
Demonstrated experience using reference materials, reading policy language, and processing rules and procedures.
Travel Requirements
Up to 10%.

In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4 days per week) working from home, proximate to one of our office locations (within approximately 35-50 miles). On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events. #LI-Remote
