American Family Insurance Claims Services (AFICS, Inc.) is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Associate Desk Adjuster to join our dynamic team. As an Associate Desk Adjuster, you will report to a Manager and provide exceptional customer service, manage claims, and resolve conflicts with fairness and sensitivity.

AFICS is dedicated to getting you ready for success. Training will be provided to develop the competencies required to be successful in this role.

In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4 days per week) working from home. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, trainings, and culture events. For this reason, you should live proximate to one of the locations listed below: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110; Chicago, IL 60601; Denver, CO 80112; Eden Prairie, MN 55343; Keene, NH 03431; St. Joseph, MO 64507; Phoenix, AZ 85034; Nashville, TN 37214

Compensation Minimum:$23 / hour

Compensation Maximum:#33.17 / hour

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will evaluate and investigate insurance claims with a customer-centric approach.

  • You will communicate effectively with policyholders to gather necessary information.

  • You will utilize time management skills to prioritize and handle multiple cases simultaneously.

  • You will apply computer savviness to navigate our claims management systems and databases.

  • You will demonstrate empathy and provide support to customers during stressful situations.

  • You will resolve conflicts by finding equitable solutions that satisfy all parties involved.

  • You will develop professional competencies through training and feedback.

Qualifications:

  • You will possess outstanding customer service skills.

  • You will manage your time and meet deadlines.

  • You will have experience in conflict resolution, with a focus on maintaining relationships.

  • You will be proficient in computer applications and be able to learn new software quickly.

  • You are someone who can empathize with customers' needs and concerns.

Licenses

  • Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.

  • Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing as required.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10%.

  • Catastrophe duty up to 75% as applicable.

Physical Requirements

  • Work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
