DEPARTMENT: Finance & Operations
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Lead the Technology team and oversee all technology initiatives across the organization. This position provides strategic leadership and direction to ensure AFBF achieves its operational and business objectives through effective use of technology.
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
LOCATION: Washington, DC; eligible to earn telework 2 days/week
PAY RANGE: $185,000 - $275,000 annually
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy ensuring alignment with the organizations business objectives while maintaining operational efficiency in a cost-effective manner.
- Collaborate with executive leaders and other department heads, advising on technologies that enhance efficiency and effectiveness, and support all departments in adopting technologies.
- Ensure that IT infrastructure and applications are optimized to support operations.
- Establish robust cybersecurity protocols and ensure compliance to safeguard against cyber threats.
- Manage relationships with vendors, technology providers, and cloud-based services to ensure cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices and determine their applicability to the organization, including information technology, artificial intelligence, telephony, audio/visual, web presence, and broadcast production services.
- Build and refine a high-performing technology team while cultivating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to the technology team, promoting professional development and high performance.
- Develop and manage the technology budget, aligning financial planning with strategic priorities.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Communicates with all AFBF employees; AFBF leadership; state Farm Bureau staff and officers; affiliate companies and other organizations as appropriate.
EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Bachelors degree or higher
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 10 years of experience in technology leadership, including 5 years in a senior executive role.
- Deep expertise in Enterprise IT, including software development, cloud infrastructure, IT operations, cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and networking.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage complex situations and demonstrate sound judgment and problem solving.
- Proven ability to manage long-term projects meeting time-sensitive deadlines and deliverables.
- Proven leadership and team-building abilities, with a history of mentoring and developing high-performing technical talent with the ability to establish accountabilities and expectations and manage performance to achieve results.
- Possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and be passionate about the wellbeing of our members, staff, and the agricultural community.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/SKILLS:
- Degree in information technology or related field
- Trade association experience a plus
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional travel
