The purpose of this position is to assist the political department in advancing AFT’s goals of championing fairness; democracy; economic opportunity; and high-quality public education, healthcare and public services for our students, their families and our communities.
Under the direction of the political director, the deputy director will coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of AFT’s political field campaigns and strategic partnership, including local election programs, independent expenditures and union member issue campaigns.
