DESCRIPTION:
Provide data architectural expertise across the data domain by establishing technical data architectures and performing data integrations for relational, non-relational, multi-dimension solutions. Design, document, and communicate technical data solutions with the understanding of the holistic view for the enterprise
Drives the advancement of data architecture, tools, and quality efforts by mentoring fellow IT colleagues and collaborates with business stakeholders via demos, presentations, workshops, technical talks, design reviews and documentation
Manages risks associated with data and technical assets through the development, use and promotion of the appropriate standards, security, privacy, and governance policies
SKILLS:
Expert in Structured Query Language (SQL) and comfortable designing, writing, and maintaining complex SQL based ETL, which includes building large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines
Expert with Microsoft SQL Server Database and related tools
Expert in building fault-tolerant and self-healing ETL processes, SSIS packages and data pipelines
Advanced knowledge of relational data stores, star schemas, normalization, and multi-dimensional data stores
Leads research and development efforts, stays up to date with technology trends, and evaluates their potential use in the organization's data solutions. They should be able to identify new technologies and tools that can improve the organization's data solutions, make recommendations for their adoption, and evangelize their use.
Proficient in tools used in the development of ETL processes. Example tools include SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Data Factory, Python Script
Advanced knowledge with data modeling, data management strategies, big data concepts and technologies, data warehousing, and building high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines
Knowledge of Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and other Azure services, including NoSQL technologies.
Proven ability to work and produce results within the structure of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
Should have excellent technical documentation, communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across the organization
Experienced in advanced research, analysis and problem-solving
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Be highly motivated and have willingness to continually improve technical and soft skills
Demonstrate commitment to meeting company, department and team goals and objectives
Familiarity with the DevOps, data pipelines and shared code repositories such as GIT
Working knowledge of enterprise data management solutions and platforms (i.e., MDM, data governance, metadata management, ETL, data quality management, data warehouse management)
Knowledge of hierarchical and graph data structures
Ensures data solutions comply with established technical standards, policies, procedures, and architectural documentation requirements.
Influences and builds organization’s overall technical roadmaps and data architecture documentation using applicable tools and practices.
Expert in eliciting solid data element descriptions and definitions and with physical data modeling tools and proficient in at least one (e.g., ER/Studio, Erwin)
Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Service Bus technologies, and other data abstraction tools and access layers
