What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Chief Security Officer position at American Fidelity?
- This position is responsible for integrating physical security needs with technical security needs. The position will work closely with Chief Security Officer (CSO) to establish and implement security strategy for AFA facilities (headquarters, field offices and executive leadership and Family residences) and personnel as well as assist with securing technical systems and associated data. This includes security of data handling equipment and facilities.
- Serve as the CSO’s representative when CSO is not available, including making decisions usually made by the CSO.
- Develop, implement and review security policies, standards and procedures to assure appropriate guidance to the Organization and Colleagues.
- Establish, assure adherence to and maintain compliance oversight of the security elements for AFA facilities, personnel and technical operations. These controls serve multiple purposes but must assure compliance with regulatory, Model Audit Rule (MAR), and SOC II Type 2 obligations, at a minimum.
- Direct and manage incident response requirements for security related situations.
- Provide Leadership to educate and promote both physical and technical security awareness and adherence for all levels within the Organization.
- Provide Leadership to manage Colleagues involved with the technical and physical security related functions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge relating to security threats, vulnerabilities and mitigations to implement and maintain desired levels of technical and physical security for the organization(s) and entities. In collaboration with the Chief Security Officer, prepare and present reports regarding security matters to senior leadership, stake holders, Board Members and others as needed. This will include regular and routine interactions with multiple Cameron Entities, AFPC in particular, as well as Family and Family Office needs.
- Assist in managing budget considerations related to security overall.
- Extensive knowledge of technical and physical security and risk management for organizations, individuals, technology and data. This will include integrations of technical and physical security tools and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage both personnel and programs addressing organizational governance and security.
- Incident management and response knowledge, experience and capabilities.
- Familiarity with the Governance, Risk and Compliance to further both physical and technical security.
- Strong Microsoft Office product knowledge including PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
- Strong awareness of security and demonstrate this by protecting the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and liaison with outside agencies as needed to include law enforcement organizations. Working knowledge of software and or process automation
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Must be able to communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of audiences, from organizational leadership at multiple levels, Board Member presentations as well as other Enterprise Organizations and their leadership. This will also include regular interactions with Family and Family Office members. This will include the need to articulate security strategies and governance requirements in a clear and understandable manner.
