Job Description
- Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents applicable to position’s area of specialty for approval and use by the Law Department across the Company and affiliates.
- Assist in the research and analysis of legal sources and documents to provide legal support services to attorneys, internal clients and outside counsel with minimal supervision.
- Communicate complex information, both written and oral, to Colleagues at all levels of the Company and affiliates.
- Additional administrative duties as required to support needs of the department
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred -OR- requires Paralegal certification by an American Bar Association accredited program and minimum of five years’ experience as an insurance, transactional, litigation and/or employee benefits specialist legal assistant/paralegal.
- 5-7 years’ experience to include a minimum of three years’ experience as legal assistant/paralegal in legal specialty applicable to the position (litigation, transactions, employee benefits, general corporate) as well as project management.
- Proficiency with PC Windows-based software, including Word, Excel, Access and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analysis and interpretation skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including outstanding interpersonal and consultative skills.
- Demonstrates independence in administration and excels in analyzing and adjusting organization procedures for maximum efficiency.
- Proficiency with computerized legal research programs and references; willingness to explore new technology (including automation) for increased efficiencies.
