The Finance Area of the Orfalea College of Business (OCOB) at Cal Poly is inviting applicants for a tenure-track, academic year position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Finance program is expanding its real estate curriculum and is seeking applicants with primary research and teaching interests in Real Estate Finance, with related competencies in Quantitative Finance (Financial Econometrics, Fin-Tech, and Financial Analytics). Applicants should have an active research agenda and be committed to excellence in research and teaching, at both undergraduate and MBA levels.

The successful candidate must have completed a doctorate or equivalent degree in Finance, Real Estate Finance, Economics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. The Ph.D. should be awarded by the time of appointment in Fall 2025. Applicants are expected to demonstrate exemplary teaching, a strong publication record and research pipeline, and currency in their professional field. Applicants must have the ability to work with diverse students and engage diversity in the curriculum. The candidate must demonstrate a track record of and / or plan for incorporating curricular coverage of areas related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as to promote inclusive teaching strategies. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language is required.
