Fire Alarm Install Technician Position

The function of this position is to provide reliable, high quality customer support through on-site inspecting, installing, repairing, and / or replacing fire alarm equipment as well as conducting preventative maintenance services pertaining to many different manufacturers' equipment.

This position has a salary range of $25-$32 per hour depending on experience

Job Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in industrial and commercial buildings.

Conduct site surveys to determine optimal placement of fire alarm equipment.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fire alarm systems.

Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.

Provide clear and concise documentation of work performed.

Educate customers on the proper use and maintenance of fire alarm systems.

Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

The ability to run and bend conduit preferred.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3 years' experience in fire alarm system installation and maintenance.

Knowledge of fire alarm codes and regulations (NFPA).

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Valid driver's license

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (e.g., heights, confined spaces).

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.

Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.

Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions / circumstances such as with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc.

Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.

Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with "on call availability" and must be able to travel on short notice.

Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
