Job Title: Production Supervisor
Job Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Production Team to ensure accurate product production and On Time-In Full order shipment. Responsible for effectively communicating and leading the Production Team to understand and meet daily production goals/quotas. Supervises and analyzes all production and inventory functions to optimize operations while maintaining safe food handling practices.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Understands and follows all Standard Operating Procedures and adheres to all safety rules and procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring and maintaining a safe environment through compliance of all company, local, state and federal mandates or programs.
- Provides daily counts to Chief Culinary Officer and supervises Production Team of up to 20 members.
- Ensures production line teams perform all required testing and checks in accordance with USDA and client process procedures.
- Alerts Chief Culinary Officer of any problems that will hinder quality and ability to meet production quota/deadline.
- Responsible for production line start-ups and shut-downs and process parameter adjustment.
- Assists in the training of new employees as directed.
- Performs evaluations of production line team members periodically and address any concerns related to improper following of company policy and procedures.
- Report machine issues for repair to Facilities Operations Manager and monitors equipment performance during run time to detect potential problems.
- Coordinate resources to work on unplanned assignment(s) and other situations.
- Communicate updates and needs to Supervisor on a daily basis.
- Provide advice for process and safety concerns back to management preferably with reasonable suggestion for improvement.
- Alert to methods of continuous improvements to increase efficiencies for examples, using different process change or different workflows in order to reach and/or exceed daily target production goals.
- Available to react to issues as they arise and work on root cause analysis to prevent issues from recurring and implement corrective action plans.
- Maintain proper communication between AFS team members.
- Performs other duties, which may be required to further support and focus on the future growth of the Company.
- Acts with a positive professional attitude and poses a Continuous Improvement mindset to identify and lead opportunities for improvement for service and cost.
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace and Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety, and superior quality standards.
- Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Responsible for optimizing warehousing, shipping and inventory management.
- Responsible for ensuring production facility is kept current and are in adherence to all company policies and procedures related to the handling of USDA/Client(s) product.
- Work with AFS team to develop, document, and execute a comprehensive inventory management and logistics strategy which will drive optimal customer service and profitability.

- Display an understanding of food safety concerns, pathogens, and best practices for safe operations.
- Sense of Urgency: Time and quality are of the utmost importance, as our brand and clients brand hinges on consistent delivery of their products to customers.
- Organize and prioritize projects and requirements while under pressure and meeting deadlines. Production can shift quickly and the Production Team will need to “shift gears” to respond to changes in schedule and task.
- Dependability: Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable. We are a small production team and scheduling is of the utmost importance for attaining our goals.
- Adaptability/Flexibility: Requires being open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the work activities. Production work can hinge on minor elements of process and so the ability to receive guidance and follow through with implementation.
- Education: High School Education or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Prior manufacturing experience required; food manufacturing is a plus.
- Previous supervisory experience
- Technology: Word, Excel, Google Doc, Google Sheet proficient
- Detail oriented with excellent written, verbal, math, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished written, orally, or schedule form.
- Problems Solving Skills - ability to use sound judgment when analyzing issues and recommending a proper course of action.
- Must be able to push and operate a pallet jack.
- Must possess full range of body motion including ability to sit, bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Must be able to stand for 8-10 hour shift and work in a loud and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC).
- Must have the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours, as needed.
- Must be able to read and speak English.
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or old and posses a valid driver’s license.
