Maintenance Mechanic Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic II to join our team at American Foods Group, LLC. This role is responsible for performing intermediate plumbing, Tig, stick, and mig welding, as well as routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly.
Main Responsibilities:
- Performs intermediate plumbing (e.g. install and maintain piping) to ensure efficient operation of machinery and equipment.
- Conducts routine preventive maintenance on machines and equipment to prevent breakdowns and downtime.
- Identifies and locates parts/part numbers from machinery or equipment manuals or parts catalogs to facilitate repair and maintenance activities.
- Assembles, installs or repairs plumbing (e.g. threading pipe), equipment or machinery to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair.
- Performs basic forklift maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Performs basic hydraulics to support the operation of heavy machinery and equipment.
- Completes necessary paperwork to document maintenance activities and track progress.
- Assists in performing maintenance on scale equipment in applicable areas to ensure accurate weighing and measurement.
- Notifies lead or supervisor of any malfunctions or repairs needed to ensure prompt attention and minimize downtime.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma or GED required.
- 6 months maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience using hand and power tools, precision measuring tools, and the ability to read and work from drawings and blueprints.
- Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures and conditions with personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime.
