What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rotogravure Pressman 3rd shift position at American Fuji Seal?
General Responsibilities:
Effectively operate rotogravure press maintaining quality and outputs in order to achieve production standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Efficient operation of the rotogravure press.
2. Insures appropriate quality level of material produced on the press.
3. Work with management and colleagues for continuous improvement in process and methods.
4. Accurately complete and maintain all necessary production documentation.
5. Performs all tasks required to operate the press including all changeover activities.
6. Properly understands and can operate the web defect inspection devices.
7. Assist with the inspection and archiving of press tear sheets.
8. Maintain a clean and safe working environment for the pressroom and related areas.
9. Communicates to management and lead pressman any and all issues with either the press, production materials (film, inks cylinders rollers etc.).
10. Understands and maintains the jobs to the production schedule.
11. Works to insure appropriate output, speed and overall production efficiency of the press is maintained.
12. All other appropriate duties as assigned by the management team and permitted by the existing union contract language.
Qualifications:
Desirable to have experience printing preferably Rotogravure, offset, flexo etc. Familiarly with Rotomec printing presses is a plus. The candidate must pass a recent color blind test, have solid communication skills, familiarization with computers and user interface screens. The ability to work as a team member is critical. The candidate must be able to use precise measuring devices, and possess the some knowledge of the behavior of printing inks, solvents, and printable substrates.
Other Qualifications:
A High School Diploma, good physical strength (to effectively maneuver and handle rotogravure cylinders), the ability to work overtime and any schedule that management may deem necessary.
