The Field Service Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the distribution of service operations within the department. This role involves analyzing service statistics to determine potential opportunities, while also monitoring and fulfilling customer needs. The Field Service Engineering Manager is accountable for overseeing the day-to-day field service operations that enhance customer satisfaction, market positioning, and profitability. This position requires strong leadership, a commitment to professional development, and the ability to guide the growth and effectiveness of the Field Service Engineering team.
- Direct service activities
- Advise customers on technical or procedural issues
- Analyze financial record or reports to determine state of operations
- Manage service employees
- Conduct opinion surveys or needs assessments
- Evaluate potential of products, technologies, or resources
- Evaluate employee performance
- Establish interpersonal business relationships to facilitate work activities
- Advise others on business or operational matters
- Confer with organizational members to accomplish work activities
- Represent the organization in external relations
- Understands the job requirements of the Field Service Technicians and Engineers and monitors the day-to-day performance of the team to ensure customers’ expectations are met and/or exceeded
- Manages monthly reporting of activities and trends and makes recommendations for continuous improvement
- Supports the AFS Technical Field Service staff with research and supplemental testing of AFS material.
- Stays abreast and informed on industry trends and knows what the competition is doing
- Coordinates field service with AFS and FSPM for system service as appropriate
- Ensures safety requirements are kept both internally and at customer sites
- Ensures company policies and procedures are followed
- Facilitates cross training for technical film and machine services
Qualifications
- Previous managerial experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Possesses electrical and mechanical background.
- Background with packaging equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in label applications and equipment performance
- Knowledge/experience of quality and food safety management systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

Salary : $102,000 - $110,000
