What are the responsibilities and job description for the 092-Order Puller Associate position at American Furniture Warehouse?
The Order Puller Associate will stock incoming merchandise and fill orders for customers. At AFW, we are proud that customers can pick up their furniture and take it home the same day. You will be a critical part of fulfilling that promise to the customer.
The Order Puller will safely operate a Stock Picker, Reach Truck, Sit Down Forklift, and any other equipment necessary to transport merchandise for customers and other departments. We provide full training and certifications for all equipment. This is a full time position with a starting wage of $18.50/hour.

Job Requirements
- Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker helpful but not required.
- Commitment to safety
- Knowledge of the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
- Capability to perform the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
- You have to work at heights! You will fill orders 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
- Ability to work in multiple departments. It's a great opportunity to cross-train and learn new skills.
- Ability to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends. We are a retail operation so that means we need you during our operation hours which are Sunday - Saturday, 10 am - 10 pm. Some warehouse shifts are overnight and come with an additional pay premium
- Be an ambassador for safety in the workplace.
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Operate material handling equipment to move products within the warehouse.
- Operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.
- Correctly use a hand truck.
- Capacity to effectively work independently of direct supervision.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner.
- Capacity to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
- Capability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.
- Continuous use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
- Ability to lift, lower, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. and the skill to handle/manipulate merchandise up to 250 lbs. frequently.
