Position Overview :
In this role, you will conduct in-depth construction-related contractual risk analysis under the guidance of senior experts and support clients in negotiating major contracts (primarily Alternative Project Delivery). You'll work closely with contractors, legal teams, and insurance / surety professionals to clarify risk allocations and support insurance advisory initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Contractual Risk Analysis : Lead contractual risk analysis under senior guidance, focusing on risk allocation and insurance provisions within Alternative Project Delivery including DB, PDB, CMAR and P3 projects.
- Client Negotiation Support : Assist clients in negotiating Alternative Project Delivery agreements, reviewing contracts and advising on risk allocation, indemnities, and insurance terms.
- Insurance Advisory : Support insurance advisory mandates by analyzing agreements to assess risk profiles and contribute to insurance strategy.
- Knowledge Transfer & Guidance : Act as a bridge between contractors, legal teams, and insurance professionals, explaining risk allocation in contracts and how insurance can mitigate specific risks.
- Legal Documentation Review : Assist with reviews of client JV agreements, design subcontracts, owner contracts and other construction related agreements, focusing on indemnities, insurance, risk allocation and risk management
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification.
- 5 years in a construction or insurance legal role at a law firm, in-house legal team within a construction or architect / engineering firm, or in-house at an insurance or surety carrier.
- Proficient in contract analysis, risk allocation, and negotiation in the infrastructure / construction sector.
- Ability to communicate complex legal and insurance concepts to diverse audiences.
