Job Description
We are currently seeking to fill a first shift position for a Security Officer at our Creative Studios in Westlake, Ohio. The ideal candidate will be professional, adaptable to change, and be customer service oriented.
In this role, you will be scheduled from 6 : 50 am - 3 : 10 pm. As our Security Team is on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this role includes working on weekends, on a rotating schedule. This is a full time, benefits eligible position.
Compensation for this role is $16.25 per hour.
Provides for protection of the company's associates, visitors, and assets. Officers will recognize unusual or threatening conditions and will take appropriate emergency action, including enforcement of laws, applicable company policies and procedures, investigation of incidents, monitoring and operation of fire & security equipment, parking / traffic control, and response to emergency calls : theft, medical, accidents, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Report / investigate incidents, liaison with law enforcement, fire department, FM Global.
- Operate electronic access control, including daily / weekly / monthly reporting to various areas.
- Heavy emphasis on specialized computer-based applications.
- Conduct fire / tornado drills.
- Monitor alarms for WHQ, plants and other company facilities.
- Assist with security and safety awareness (Fire Week information, Safety information, etc.)
- Provide security for special events.
- First responders for First Aid, CPR, AED, alarms, trespass, workplace violence, threats, fraud, etc.
- Conduct security and safety tours (foot patrol of buildings and grounds).
- Greet / process all visitors.
- Use PPE and follow OSHA Guidelines as required.
- Documentation of daily activities and report writing.
- Surveillance of parking areas, security camera monitoring of various company facilities.
- Operate security and fire alarm systems including inspections and testing (intrusion systems, access systems, camera systems, building tour, fire alarm panels, lighting, etc.)
- Provide after hour escorts as requested.
- Enforcement of company policies (smoking, parking, etc.), and Lost and Found.
- Report fire and safety hazards, unsecured areas, maintenance issues, power outages, etc.
- Complete special projects as directed.
- Collaborates with human resources on employee separations as necessary.
Experience Required :
Required Length & Type of Experience : Two years related experience in security with a focused application in access control and customer service preferred.
