Job Description- EMT Skills Instructor
This is an entry level, part-time EMT Instructor position for American Health Education EMT Program. Instructor must be knowledgeable in the requirements set forth in the State of California and Safety Code, Title 22 and the
National Standard Curriculum formulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Teaching Experience: This individual works with the Lead EMT Instructor and EMT Coordinator to teach topics to which he/she is assigned as qualified by education and experience in methods, materials, and evaluation of instruction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Provide evidence of documentation: Resume, licenses/certifications- Current CPR,
Current EMT.
- Experience of a least two years in emergency medicine or prehospital care with the least one year serving in a training capacity such as FTO.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
DUTIES:
- Teach, demonstrate assignment for each module/skills station assigned ensuring that instruction and curriculum is up-to-date and that effective delivery methods are utilized.
- Provide course instruction based on approved syllabus/course lesson plans and ensure learning objectives are met.
- Utilize a variety of teaching techniques to accommodate the learning styles of a diverse student enrollment.
- Provide student assistance as needed.
- Maintain professional standards at all times.
- Maintain necessary equipment and supplies inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the EMS Lead Instructor or EMT Coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have reliable transportation to job site
- Must be able to communicate effectively with managerial staff, instructors and students.
- Must have a current California Driver License
- Must maintain EMT Certification and AHE BLS for Healthcare Provider.

The employee is required to maintain adequate physical conditioning to be able to perform job duties.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK SCHEDULE: THE POSITION
- The position will be staffed during normal business hours 0900-1730. The position is a combination of weekday/weekend schedule as needed for EMT class session.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
