AHA has partnered with the finest digital imaging manufacturers and software providers to provide our x-ray team with the most accurate imaging services available to service patients! It is our goal to exude warmth and caring as we meet and greet patients, family, and visitors throughout each day. In this role, you will provide mobile diagnostic services to nursing homes, healthcare facilities, and other local facilities.
THE ROLE: EKG TECHNICIAN
AHA's EKG Technician is responsible for performing Electrocardiograms (EKG’s) on skilled nursing and homebound patients. Our Tech prepares patients for the cardiac exam and operates equipment using established protocol.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operates diagnostic cardiac equipment based on the direction of a physician or a non-physician practitioner.
- Preps patients to obtain optimal cardiac study.
- Prepares environment to eliminate/reduce interference.
- Ensures that exams are labeled properly and of good quality.
- Completes and transmits EKG to Cardiologists for interpretation.
- Participates in quality control and quality assurance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule/Pay:
- $22 - $24 per hour, BOE
- M-F (first shift) 6AM - 2PM
Requirements
- Knowledge of the current trends and techniques of EKGs.
- Computer literacy and have ability to navigate RIS and online portals.
- Comfort in uploading studies and troubleshooting basic internet connectivity using cell phone or facility Wi-Fi.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients, facility staff, and co-workers.
- Technicians must be patient centric and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and others.
- Must have active driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to unique circumstances when scanning elderly or homebound patients with limited mobility.
Education and Experience:
- EKG license as required by state regulation.
- One year of experience desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods driving, standing, bending, reaching.
- Must be able to push and pull a minimum of 30-50 pounds.
- Physical strength and agility to position patients for examination.
