Job Summary: The Accounting Assistant is responsible for doing a thorough and complete check of daily deposits and all related paperwork, balancing reports, and data entry for accounts payable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Balance end of day cash and credit card paperwork.
- Daily data entry to excel spreadsheets ensuring all cash, checks and credit cards are accounted for in daily ledger.
- Communicate with managers, employees and/or vendors to balance any outstanding issues such as receipts and/or invoices.
- Relieve daily onboard sales, special events sales, or Etix presales.
- Run bank errands, prepare, and deliver cash and credit card deposits.
- Reconcile company credit cards and collect receipts to enter into accounting software.
- Enter accounts payable into accounting software.
- Review vendor statements and compare to invoices received ensuring they match. Communicate with vendors to reconcile, if needed.
- Cross-train in reservations department to assist when needed.
- Perform monthly on-hand cash and inventory checks.
- Train current and new employees on accounting functions including but not limited to expense forms, reimbursements, cash handling procedures, petty cash, credit card requests, purchase orders, and check requests.
- Provide administrative support such as ordering supplies, filing, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education, Skill and Work Experience Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
- Detail-oriented, team player with excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Must have a understanding of basic computer technology and programs such as Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Must have cash handling experience.
- Knowledge of basic accounting/accounts payable required.
- Must possess organizational skills with ability to multi-task while prioritizing workload with practical, flexible, and innovative approach to work.
- Ability to communicate successfully with a variety of personalities and function effectively as a member of a team.
- Valid Driver License.
- Must be able to interact appropriately with customers, industry partners, and co-workers in a relatable and professional manner.
Work Environment:
- Work in an office setting, some days with direct contact to the public.
- Varied schedule throughout the year dictated by train schedule and company needs.
- Flexible hours dependent upon applicant and departmental needs. Monday through Friday preferred 8am-2pm or 5pm.
