Personal Finance Teacher PT) :
American Heritage School and Family Education Center helps K-12 students thrive intellectually, spiritually, physically, and socially in the light of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Personal Finance teacher candidates should demonstrate an enduring love of youth, a love of teaching and learning, and a desire to work in a faith-based atmosphere that is aligned with values taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The successful candidate will be professional in appearance and demeanor and will be willing to uphold the Mission , Honor Code , and Diversity Statement both on and off-campus. The candidate will demonstrate support of AHS's mission and values by thoughtful responses to the application questions.
Candidates must submit a resume and list of 2-3 professional references , including contact information for references who will be asked to comment on your professionalism as a teacher.
A bachelor's degree is required. A teacher license and graduate degree are preferred, but not required.
Two years or more of professional experience is preferred. Exceptional candidates with one year of teaching experience and strong recommendations will be considered. Candidates without professional teaching experience will not be selected. Special education training is helpful but not required.
Top candidates will be invited to give a teaching demonstration at AHS. The successful candidate will demonstrate warmth and enthusiasm, subject-matter expertise, the ability to help students relate knowledge to their lives through principles that are memorable and applicable, pacing that doesn't drag, methods that engage students in reasoning and relating, formative assessments of learning, and purposeful routines.
The position begins January 6, 2026. The teaching location is 142 W. 200 N., Salt Lake City, Utah .
The anticipated teaching schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays, 2 : 15-3 : 15 PM (2 HOURS PER WEEK) from January 6-May 19, 2026.
