Job Overview
As a Hospice Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate end-of-life care to patients in hospice settings. You will work closely with patients and their families to ensure comfort, dignity, and quality of life during their final stages.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in accordance with the established care plan
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including pain management and symptom control
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
- Educate patients and families on end-of-life care, symptom management, and advance directives
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Requirements
- Experience in long-term care or hospice settings is preferred
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required
- Proficiency in administering medications and treatments
- Knowledge of acute pain management techniques
- Familiarity with geriatric care principles
- Understanding of ophthalmology and physiology
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients and families
