Steeped in a tradition of hydropower, American Hydro is a leading supplier and installer of large equipment for the hydro electric industry, specializing in design, engineering, precision CNC manufacture, upgrades and servicing of high-performance, hydro-turbines and large pumps.
We are currently looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to add to our team located at our York, PA facility. We are a tight-knit group that takes a great deal of pride in what we produce. Essential Functions Performed by the Position
- Working with limited supervision and independent judgment: Develops work instructions and procedures in support of manufacturing processes.
- Prepare detailed work instructions and directives in support of manufacturing processes.
- Drives, implements, and supports continuous improvement projects and activities.
- Estimating labor by analyzing part drawings, specifications and manufacturing process required to produce fabricated parts and assemblies.
- Develop comprehensive work instructions and routings for machine shop and fabrication processes, ensuring clarity and adherence to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel on manufacturing processes, procedures, and techniques
- Analyzes manufacturing processes and workflow for continuous improvement opportunities and implements changes.
- Performs methods and cost analyses and conducts process measurements.
- Develop new manufacturing processes / tooling and resolve manufacturing constraints.
- Develop facilities, equipment, and personnel layouts for manufacturing including preparation of capital expense justification(s).
- Proficient in use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Quality systems, and other manufacturing support systems.
- Assist other department personnel in reviewing engineering designs for producibility.
- Assist in the resolution of supply chain issues impacting manufacturing.
- Ensure the effective application, integration and measurement of manufacturing techniques and resources that successfully accomplish manufacturing processes/activities in support of safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives.
- Able to mentor team members of manufacturing processes/activities
- Lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives.

Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree, Engineering or other Engineering related degree
- 5-8 years related experience or equivalent experience.
Licenses or Certifications Required
- Six Sigma Green Belt (Preferred)
- Lean Credentials (Preferred)
