We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with great customer service skills to fill our role as
SERVICE ADMINISTRATOR
for our dealership in Garden City, Kansas.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position assists the service manager in maintaining accurate and on-time reports and records relative to the service department’s operation within the dealership. This position also answers customer inquiries about service work and generates repair quotes, plus prepares and manages work orders to ensure technicians have work in front of them.
COMPENSATION:
- This is a full-time position with 45 hours/week.
- Base hourly wage ranges between $15-19 per hour, depending on experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Fields internal and external customer inquiries to the Service Department
- Opens repair orders and creates the packet as directed by the Service Manager/Shop Foreman using the best available job codes.
- Maintains Service Department filing and records.
- Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer repair orders.
- Maintains service office accessories and supplies and prepares replacement orders.
- May prepare Service Technician efficiency reports and other related reports on behalf of the Service Manager.
- May process warranty and/or product improvement claims including the computation of charges.
- May participate in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
- May close and invoice work orders.
- Adjust & maintain technician labor & attendance functions.
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
- Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
- Other duties as assigned per management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic knowledge of accounting practices, payables, receivables, general ledgers, etc.
- Knowledge of office procedures/machines, filing, typing, etc.
- Strong interpersonal/customer-service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office.
- Use and operation of general office equipment.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- High School Degree or equivalent experience.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance. Extended period of keyboarding/typing. Position also requires driving a vehicle, extensive hours on a computer, hearing normal tones, speaking, and seeing.
