American Implement is looking for an experienced
SHOP FOREMAN
for our dealership location in Scott City, Kansas.
This person should be familiar with the agricultural practices in the area. The Shop Foreman assigns and provides work direction to employees in the Service Department, advises and recommends changes and improvements regarding Service Department processes to the Service Manager, and assists in the processing of repair and warranty work.
COMPENSATION:
Total earning potential will vary depending on your sales success and the overall performance of your location.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with the assignment of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees according to their skills and knowledge.
- Assists in the appraisal of repair orders coming into the Service Department and may participate in repairs.
- Reviews repair orders for accuracy and completion concerning parts, materials and labor.
- Directs and assists in the diagnosis of machine problems of technicians and apprentices, and provides instruction as required.
- Inspects and repairs all special tools. Recommends new tooling as required.
- Maintains shop tools, equipment and vehicles in good condition and working order.
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment for all Service Department personnel.
- Promotes customer loyalty and goodwill and protects dealership’s image.
- Advises Service Manager or Service Location Manager of all customer complaints.
- Coordinates and schedules all in-house technician training. Participates in training as required.
- Assists with the coordination and facilitation of quarterly safety meetings.
- Arranges for and participates in reconditioning of used equipment and set-up of new equipment.
- Acts as Service Manager in Service Manager’s absence.
- Assists in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager or Service Location Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Service Technician.
- Ability to lead others. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
- Ability to speak effectively to individuals and groups.
- Ability to write and work on routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
- Fork Lift License preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, must be able to regularly lift 75 lbs. without assistance, grasping with both hands, pushing and pulling, working around moving machinery, driving a vehicle, extensive hours on a computer, hearing normal tones, and seeing. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions from extreme heat to winter blizzard conditions.
