Job Title: Senior Business Solutions Analyst
You'll Report To: Vice President of Innovation and Data
Job Summary:
The Senior Business Solutions Analyst is responsible for participating in strategic and cross-departmental initiatives and supporting the team in the execution of end-to-end engagements. The analyst is also responsible for the collection, development, analysis, documentation, and communication of business needs and requirement; and providing accurate, congruent, and reliable data in an easily consumable format for leaders throughout the organization. Ideally, the analyst will also function as a subject matter expert on Salesforce capabilities and limitations, while providing guidance on solutions, design, and implementation.
Throughout an assignment, the analyst may act as a liaison while interfacing and working collaboratively with technology and business organizations. The analyst will assess the needs of the assignment by directly interacting with key stakeholders relevant to the project. The analyst is also expected to use his/her working understanding of information systems, business operations, and processes to analyze requirements, develop specifications, story-boarding and prototyping to facilitate the design of integrated solutions. Qualified applicants will have a natural tendency to use data in decision-making and prioritization. Strong project management and consulting skills are essential for this role.
Key Job Functions:
- Participate in and/or lead the implementation of special projects.
- Serve as a Salesforce subject matter expert, consulting on platform capabilities and limitations, while providing guidance on solutions, design, and implementation.
- Perform analysis using complex data sets, synthesizing findings in written or presentation form.
- Work within a project plan, maintaining scope and achieving key objectives within deadlines.
- Actively participate as a key member of project teams/work streams to address key initiatives and/or resolve business problems.
- Conduct or direct complex research to obtain information such as financial data or product and market profiles, often from multiple sources, including government databases.
- Work collaboratively with other departments, conducting interviews, or conducting primary or secondary research to gather data if information is not readily available.
- Compile information and analyze qualitatively and/or quantitatively, and conduct follow up and data verification as needed.
- Analyze feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, or other aspects of large or complex programs.
- Based on analysis, develop reports, proposals for action or implementation plans as necessary and present to management. Presentations may be formal or informal depending on the nature of projects.
- Proactively support team building and onboarding efforts via mentoring.
- Present ideas and information in a clear, concise manner; gather information from multiple parties to ensure all perspectives are heard and considered; listen to others to respond effectively to ideas, thoughts, and questions; express information and ideas effectively in settings including aligned or un-aligned feedback to btain desired results.
What You'll Need to be a Top Candidate
Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
Experience:
- 2 years of data analytics experience required.
- 3-5 years of Salesforce administration and/or consulting experience required.
- Salesforce Administration Certification, or other related certifications, is strongly preferred.
- Preferred candidate will have prior experience in property and casualty insurance.
Knowledge:
- Analytical techniques and technical communication skills.
- Solid business acumen within the Product, Claims, Underwriting, Sales and/or Risk Management disciplines, or ability to learn independently in order to provide value.
- Must be comfortable working with minimal direction.
- Outside of the box thinker. Able to bring solutions to problems that haven’t been solved before.
- Strong organizational skills, including time management.
- Experience working in agile scrum methodology.
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills required.
- Data visualization tool exposure preferred (Tableau, PowerBI)
- Demonstrated ability to learn additional software applications required.
- Python, RPA, or Java exposure would be a plus.
- SQL query building would be a plus.
- Exposure to JIRA Confluence would be a plus.
