The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Specialist/Manager to join our Warehouse Department in Channelview, TX. This pivotal role is responsible for optimizing domestic and international logistics operations, ensuring compliance with AES penalties and trade regulations, and building strong partnerships with vendors. The ideal candidate will also utilize advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization skills to develop and manage logistics performance scorecards, driving measurable improvements in efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities

Logistics Operations Management:

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate international logistics operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and international trade regulations.
  • Manage AES (Automated Export System) filing processes, proactively addressing and mitigating penalty compliance risks.

Vendor & Transportation Oversight:

  • Establish and maintain agreements with transportation providers and freight carriers to optimize costs and service levels in Houston and Midland.
  • Monitor and assess vendor performance, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring reliable service.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Review and audit documentation to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and trade compliance standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of Section 232 and 301 tariffs, duty drawback processes, and U.S. Export licensing requirements.

Performance Tracking & Reporting:

  • Develop, manage, and refine logistics scorecards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure operational efficiency.
  • Prepare dynamic presentations and reports using Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools to inform decision-making and drive accountability.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance logistics operations, streamline processes, and improve compliance.
  • Act as the primary liaison for logistics matters, aligning regional operations with headquarters and ensuring effective communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Licensed Customs Broker certification or relevant expertise in trade compliance and customs operations.
  • Experience in logistics management, with a strong emphasis on international shipping, AES filing, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis tools) and PowerPoint for data visualization and reporting.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage performance scorecards, track KPIs, and present insights to stakeholders.
  • Experience with transportation agreements, customs documentation, and resolving regulatory issues.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a detail-oriented approach to managing multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Section 232 and 301 tariffs, duty drawback processes, and U.S. Export licensing requirements (preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
