Maintenance Journeyman Millwright
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Journeyman is responsible for:
- Troubleshooting and servicing all production and support equipment within the facility in a safe and efficient manner while ensuring minimal downtime.
- This position will work closely with Operations and the Mechanical Maintenance Team to provide maximum facility support.
- Providing mechanical support in locating and determining types of mechanical malfunctions within the mill.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, tables, charts, formulas, and equipment instruction manuals.
- Aligning equipment to specified tolerances.
- Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment including centrifugal pumps, gearboxes, fans, and agitators
Requirements:
- Either recognized 4-year apprenticeship for industrial millwright or minimum 5 years industrial experience as a first-class millwright.
- Must have full knowledge of lock out procedures and willingness to use them.
- Must be able to pack pumps using correct packing material and can demonstrate the ability to pack an allis chamber or similar pump.
- Must be able to pack soot blowers, i.e., IK300, IK525 OR 69B.
- Must be able to rebuild single stage pumps, i.e., Worthington pump.
- Must be able to perform maintenance and repairs on any company vehicle; this includes changing and setting plugs, condensers, batteries, check and set timing, change oil, grease, etc.
- Must be able to change coupling grid.
- Must be able to replace drive belts requiring knowledge of various belts and setting proper tension.
- Must be able to remove, rebuild and replace conveyor rolls.
- Must be able to make-up hydraulic hoses that will pressure test.
- Must be able to set and align pumps and motors including installing sprockets, chains, pulleys and belts.
- Must be able to use dial indicator to check for run-out on coupling face.
- Must be able to use torque wrench to torque bolts to predetermine settings.
- Have proven ability to make seal and bearing installations; a written test may be developed for this.
- Must be able to identify bolt grades.
- Must be able to replace shafts, bearings, belts and motors.
- Must be able to work on hydraulic equipment.
- Must be able to remove and replace pads on paper machine clutch assembly.
- Must be knowledgeable about all safety equipment and show willingness to utilize it.
- Ability to work in a physically intense environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in elevated temperatures in excess of 100 degrees.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in high places.
Maintenance Journeyman - Machinist positions start at $34.73 and pay as high as $37.30.
