Job Title: Counter Sales/Installation of Truck Accessories
Job Summary:
The customer service position at American Ladders performs a variety of tasks to support the entire operation. The primary objective of this position is to provide assistance to sales staff, and other branch personnel in order to meet the needs of customers. Must be able to checkout and demonstrate equipment for customers as well as drive a delivery truck to pick-up and drop-off equipment.
- Responsible for assisting customers in person and on the phone in a positive and professional manner.
- Answer questions about product pricing and availability as well as demonstrate the use of some items.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness in the showroom as well as pricing and stocking merchandise.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team.
- This position requires the ability to assist other departments as necessary.
- Must have at least two years of experience in sales/customer service.
- Great communication skills and the ability to multitask are a must.
- Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Other duties might include:
- Installation of truck equipment, assist in deliveries, and prepare equipment for rental/sales.
- Suggest equipment and supplies to meet customers’ needs.
- Perform inventory control; determine equipment available for rental.
- Greet customers and assist with customer inquiries.
- Assist as needed throughout the branch.
- Occasionally travel to assist other branch locations (Milford, CT & N. Oxford, MA)
- Drive/transport equipment directly to customer locations on time and in a safe and courteous manner
- Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment
- Determine customers’ ability to use equipment in a safe manner
- Lift equipment onto truck
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Requirements:
- Occasional use of power tools
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs - occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Exposure to light, extreme temperature, loud noise, dust, gas or fumes.
- Occasional working at heights above 10 feet
- Ability to bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for prolonged period of time
- Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 4 hours per day
- Ability to climb over and onto heavy equipment several times per day
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
