Position Overview

Ensures the crew members complete hardscape tasks effectively and efficiently by maintaining detailed daily customer job records including labor hours, equipment, and materials used on each work ticket.

Essential Duties

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT

• Run a crew of three to four.
• Ability to read blueprints in scale is a must.
• Capable of operating heavy equipment and power tools in a safe and responsible manner
• Assist in all aspects of project construction including excavation, drainage and landscaping.
• Build masonry structures including but not limited to decorative walls, retaining walls, veneer, field stone walls, patios with concrete pavers and natural stone, steps, counters and outdoor kitchens, fire pits, water features.
• Know how to install French drain, catch basin, seepage pits & leader drains.
• Footings, concrete sidewalks and pads, Belgian Block Curbing.
• Rough and finish grading by hand and machine.
• Proper turf seeding and/or sodding installation.
• Knowledge of irrigation system repairs and operation.
• Tree and shrub removal, trimming and pruning.
  
  

TEAM MANAGEMENT

• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
• Communicates with the operation leadership regarding crew members including both positive and negative feedback
• Oversees employee training and development
• Position may perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Education, Knowledge And Experience

• 2–3 years of experience in the hardscape industry required, including installation of pavers, fireplaces, fire pits, and other hardscape features.
• At least 1 year of leadership experience preferred, with the ability to manage teams and oversee project execution.
  
  

Skills And Quailifactions

• Possess a valid state driver's license to operate a truck and trailer.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks
• Knowledge of all phases of landscaping projects
• Ability to lead, develop, and mentor crew members
• Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills

• Extended work hours during peak seasons
• Requires substantial physical activity performing strenuous activities of a productive and technical nature; regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions of extreme heat and extreme cold; consistent exposure to loud noise; potential exposure to air pollution, allergens, dust, pollen, insects, and other potentially harmful naturally occurring hazards; continuous exposure to moving mechanical parts and sharp objects

EMPLOYMENT STATUS
