As an American Leak Detection technician, you will learn how to locate hidden water leaks and solve water infiltration issues in residential, commercial, and Industrial properties, along with learning to repair these leaks. Leak detection on underground piping systems inside and outside buildings, as well as in swimming pools and spas. Various forms of electronics and leak detection equipment are used on the job. Advanced training includes mastering underground line tracking, video, ultrasonic, infrared, and video technologies, along with dive training.
We're Looking for a mechanically oriented and highly motivated person(s). Our local office offers a paid in-house training program in Columbus, Ohio. Come work for an established family-owned company that's been in business for 25 years.
Job Responsibilities:
- Listen to the customer, explore the property, test and diagnose potential leak sources, follow techniques and reporting protocols developed by ALD.
- Learn how to create professionally written reports to effectively describe the leak issue.
- Extend courtesy and thoughtfulness to all customers - we are there to reduce their stress, answer their questions, and solve their problems!
- Clearly communicate job arrival, departure, delays, and other critical updates with the office staff.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license (good DMV report)
- Be self-motivated and able to manage time efficiently
- Good writing & verbal communication skills
- Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
- Ability to swim
- Experience with power tools is a plus
- Experience with operating heavy machinery a plus
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Familiarity with leak detection or plumbing, pool and slab work, construction, or handyman experience is helpful but not mandatory
- Must have a working cell phone for daily communication
