Water Leak Detection Technician - Swimming Pools

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Swimming Pool Leak Detection Technician to join our team. This role involves identifying and diagnosing leaks in residential and commercial swimming pools, spas, and water features using advanced leak detection technology. The ideal candidate has experience in pool maintenance, plumbing, or leak detection and is comfortable working in and around water.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leak Detection & Diagnosis:
• Use specialized equipment such as hydrophones, dye testing, pressure testing, and electronic listening devices to locate pool leaks.
• Conduct visual inspections, pressure tests, and underwater dye tests to identify leaks in pool shells, skimmers, plumbing lines, and equipment.
• Utilize diving equipment when necessary to perform underwater inspections and repairs.
• Minor Repairs & Maintenance:
• Patch minor leaks in pool surfaces, skimmers, and fittings.
• Replace pool components such as gaskets, skimmers, seals, pump fittings, and return lines as needed.
• Customer Interaction & Reporting:
• Clearly explain findings to pool owners, property managers, and service teams.
• Provide professional written reports and recommendations for necessary repairs.
• General Duties:
• Maintain leak detection equipment.
• Follow all safety guidelines and industry best practices.
• Drive company vehicles to customer locations and maintain a clean, professional appearance.
• Keep accurate records of job details, time spent, and findings.

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience:

• Previous experience in pool maintenance, plumbing, or leak detection (preferred).
• Knowledge of swimming pool plumbing, filtration systems, and underground piping.
• Minimum 3 years of experience.

Skills:

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to use advanced leak detection tools effectively.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated, enjoy working independently, self-starter, organized, and great attitude!
• Neat appearance / has a high standard of professionalism and character.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service.
• Work outdoors & away from office.
• Ability to create well-written and concise reports to effectively describe the leak issue.

Physical Requirements:

• Comfortable working in and around water.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, kneel, bend, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to swim and use SCUBA or snorkeling equipment for underwater inspections (preferred).
• Enjoy, and able to perform intermittent, sometimes heavy physical labor.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Pool operator certification (preferred but not required).
• Ability to swim (Diving certificate a plus).
• Ability to take on physical work and capable of moving/lifting 100 lbs.
• High school or equivalent / some college education.
