Job Description
JOB TITLE: Bailer Operator
DEPARTMENT: Foam Department
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Foam Supervisor
SUMMARY
Under direction of the Foam Supervisor, the Bailer Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Bailer machine. The Operator ensures sufficient production levels are met by maintaining efficient operation of their assigned machine
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tends automatic machine that bales material: Observes machine compressing, wrapping, and sealing material into bales
- Reads meters to verify weights of bales.
- Removes bales from the machine
- Examines bailer and wrapping mechanism for defects.
- Manually turns valves and presses button that resets baling operations when automatic controls malfunction.
- May tend automatic machine that stacks bales on pallets for storage or shipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Experience as a machine operator or
- Minimum of 1 year of factory-related experience.
- Basic familiarity operating a computer
- Flexibility to work a changing work schedule according to production demands
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
