Position Summary:

The ideal candidate should be a war era veteran and a member of the American Legion.

Responsible for assisting and counseling veterans of all branches of the U.S. Military, and their dependents, by informing them of any and all benefits available and assisting them in applying and obtaining them. Responsible for a variety of highly confidential, sensitive and personal information obtained from veterans or their families to assist them in the filing of claims. The incumbent acts as a liaison between office staff, Veterans, and their families, and Federal, State and Local Governing bodies and maintains confidential and sensitive information on behalf of American Legion and the Veterans.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in staff and Veteran interactions have experience with all aspects of the organization and functions of the American Legion, Federal, State and Local governing bodies and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interact with Veterans (at all levels) and family members in a varied environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Strong level in written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability coupled with a strong sense for prioritizing work and attention to detail are equally important.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
