American Legion Jack Henry Post 1 is a small business in Anchorage, AK. We are customer-centric, social, fast-paced and our goal is to serve veterans and their families in Alaska’s oldest and largest Post. We are dedicated to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans. Our Post includes a bar and casual bar food with opportunities to serve during our special events.

We are seeking a friendly, professional, customer-focused individual to make and serve beer, wine, and custom cocktails in a bar. The ideal applicant will be someone with food and beverage service, a team-player with excellent communication skills, who is capable of adapting to situations as they arise. Candidates must have an understanding of mixology and a working knowledge of a variety of beers, wines, and liquors. The bartenders will also be responsible for assisting in the restocking of their bar areas and maintaining the cleanliness of their stations. Experience with gaming preferred but not required. This position requires a valid food handler’s permit and the ability to legally serve alcohol.

Responsibilities:

• Mix drinks according to customer preferences.
• Stock bar with liquors and glassware.
• Verify customers' identification to ensure they are of legal drinking age and have a valid membership.
• Estimate and collect money for drinks.
• Assist customers by serving food.
• Greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Keep a neat and clean workspace.
• Maintain orderly storage system for garnishes, drink mixes, and glassware.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
