Summary of the Position :

Directly lead and supervise assembly technicians and other employees in the assembly

department. Plan and establish work schedules assignments and production sequences

to meet production goals. Interpret specifications assembly instructions job orders and

company policies and procedures for workers. Monitor and maintain inventory of assembly

components and tools.

Essential Functions :

Review assembly instructions specifications and blueprints for completeness

accuracy and conformance to standards before distributing to the team for

production.

Assign work orders to assembly technicians; manage and track projects to ensure

timely completion using company ERP.

Monitor and manage inventory of assembly components and tools.

Coordinate inhouse assembly projects maintenance or repair tasks within or

between departments.

Participate in interviewing hiring and training new employees. Assign new

employees to experienced workers for mentoring / training.

Review employee performance and make compensation recommendations.

Provide other employment recommendations as needed.

Ensure safety procedures are adhered to and employees are properly trained to

operate equipment.

Manage preventative maintenance schedules for assembly tools and equipment.

Inspect work progress tools and equipment to verify safety and ensure

specifications are met; provide instruction to employees to prevent detect and

correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and / or safety rules.

Expected to function as a working leader with the ability to assist in assembly tasks

when needed

Requirements

Knowledge Skills and Abilities :

Knowledge of assembly techniques tools and principles involved in the production

of precision equipment or products.

Understanding of technical plans blueprints and specifications related to

assembly.

Ability to accurately add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Ensure all department employees know and follow company safety policies

procedures and applicable laws.

Basic computer and software knowledge including Microsoft Office (Word Excel)

and software related to inventory management and production tracking.

Ability to lead employees by motivating them fostering open communication and

identifying strengths and weaknesses.

Excellent communication skills reading writing and verbal for efficient

communication of work assignments safety practices and preparation of reports.

Use good judgment and decisionmaking skills to answer questions address

complaints and resolve problems.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Training and Experience :

High School diploma or GED required; some college or trade school preferred.

Five or more years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of

experience and education.

Work Context :

Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in shop conditions that may

include heat humidity and noise.

Occasionally exposed to risk of electric shock.

Must be able to lift push pull or carry objects use abdominal and lower back

muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. (Occasionally lift 75 lbs.

frequently lift 50 lbs.)

Requires good manual dexterity (hand hand with arm two hands) and multilimb

coordination.

Wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes glasses

gloves and hearing protection.

Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.

Excellent stamina is required.

Special Requirements :

Valid driver s license.

Pass background check and drug screen.

Ability to operate and maintain warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanning systems. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate recordkeeping and efficient inventory management. Proficiency in basic computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and inventory management systems (WMS preferred). Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering open communication and identifying strengths and areas for improvement. Excellent communication skills reading, writing, and verbal English for efficient communication of tasks, procedures, and reporting. Use good judgment and decision-making skills to resolve problems and address employee concerns. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Training, and Experience : High School diploma or GED required; some college or trade school preferred. Three or more years of relevant work experience in warehouse operations or logistics. Experience in a supervisory or lead role is preferred. Work Context : Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in warehouse conditions that may include temperature variations, noise, and dust. Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. (Occasionally lift 75 lbs., frequently lift 50 lbs.) Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. Wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, and hearing protection. Must be able to quickly move arms and legs and maintain stamina for physical tasks. Special Requirements : Valid driver s license and certification to operate forklifts (or willingness to obtain).
