Growing Company in the transportation sector seeking an experienced, motivated Sales Manager to interact with clients and prospects, assisting them with their need for the services we offer. We are an established logistics company that is well positioned to expand and move into multiple markets. This key person will be instrumental in driving this and implementing the sales strategies we develop.
The successful candidate will be a skilled and seasoned Transportation Sales professional, with direct sales experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry. They will also be a self-starter, driven and able to successfully implement sales strategy and achieve goals. The ability to work well in a fast-paced environment is a must.
Sales Representative Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Develop new accounts by sourcing, planning and organizing daily work schedule to identify and secure new customers and maintaining existing customers.
- Negotiate rates and service standards.
- Focused sales effort by studying existing and potential markets and client volume.
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses-forecasts-budgets.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, services and other areas occurring in the market.
- Recommend changes in service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
- Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
- Present and sell company services to current and potential clients.
- Working with Operations team to assess issues and educate about new opportunities.
Sales Representative Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience: 5 years’ direct outside sales experience in the transportation industry a plus.
