The American Lung Association has an excellent opportunity for a Specialist, Advocacy and Public Policy. Working as a member of the Advocacy and Public Policy department, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission : to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education, and advocacy.
The person in this role is responsible for implementing grant deliverables related to reducing the harm from commercial tobacco in Northeastern Minnesota as part of the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (50%). Responsible for duties related to the youth and young adult engagement vaping initiative funded by the WI Department of Health (50%). This is a grant funded position.
Location : The Lung Association does not currently have an office in Duluth, Minnesota. This position is home-based and job responsibilities will take place in the Duluth Twin Ports area.
Responsibilities :
- Build, maintain and cultivate relationships with funders, facilitators, and community partners to encourage program delivery, sustainability, and growth across Northeastern Minnesota
- Coordinate all aspects of grant projects activities, including trainings, presentations, community organizing, and coalition building for policy, systems and environmental change and serve as lead for these activities
- Develop and effectively utilize timelines and work plans to ensure completion of program deliverables.
- Explore opportunities to connect and enhance collaborations throughout the Lung Association
- Contribute to quarterly progress reports and monthly reporting of grant activities.
- Develop written and online technological tools for programmatic use including PowerPoint presentations, surveys and evaluation instruments.
- Represent ALA on related local coalitions and committees.
- Provide support for annual report, awards, grants and other activities as assigned.
Qualifications :
Compensation : Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The target hiring range for this position is between $45,500 and $50,000 per annum.
