What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at American Marine?
At American Marine, we pride ourselves on providing a first-class experience to our boaters, which includes our drystack service and marina slips. We’re looking to expand our team with a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to keep things running smoothly on & off the water!
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely launch, retrieve, and store vessels using a large marina forklift (Marine Travelift or similar) or forklift/trailer combo
- Assist with dry stack storage operations and organize boat placements
- Perform daily equipment checks
- Communicate clearly with dock staff and customers to ensure efficient service
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility
Experience:
- Valid driver’s license required
- Weekend & holiday availability required during the boating season
- Large forklift operation or heavy equipment experience preferred. (Training available for the right candidate!)
- Marina/shipyard experience preferred
- Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills
