Director of Nursing - Nursing Home
Located in Ithaca, NY
Salary: $95K - $105K; Depending on prior experience
Requirements of the Director of Nursing - Nursing Home
- Must have current New York RN License
- Prior Director of Nursing experience preferred
- Must have a strong clinical background and long-term care experience
- Must have significant critical care and operations management experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of skilled nursing standards of care, and federal and state regulations
Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing:
- Supervises all nursing staff in the facility
- Development and implementation of nursing policy and procedure
- Ensure the LTC unit complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards
- Overseeing the hiring and continued employment of nursing staff
- Ensuring there is adequate nursing staff, and that the staff's skills remain current
- Being knowledgeable of incidents at the facility
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, doctors, healthcare administrators, and patients' families
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop nursing staff
