We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Manager Conference Services on our Corporate Services team. This is a onsite position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 5 days a week in the office.
As Manager Conference Services, you will manage day to day Conference Center and Catering operations. Train and develop staff to comply with established department standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conference Center and Catering Operations
- Manage conference center and catering staff, providing operational support and training
- Responsible for keeping staff updated on all policies and procedures.
- Update, maintain, and make recommendations to conference services standard operations procedures
- Oversee Audio/Visual staff ensuring client requirements and equipment needs are met.
- Oversee Audio/Visual inventory maintenance and serve as backup contact with outside vendors for all firmware updates and daily operations.
- Assist Catering Supervisor with catering and room/event setup to ensure proper planning and execution. Assist with room reservations and problem solving as needed.
- Maintain all vendor relationships. Responsible for keeping up with industry trends.
- Monitor the weekly purchase of food, beverages, and supplies ensuring purchases are within budget.
- Ensure all payments are made in a timely manner, and EOM accruals completed on time.
- Oversee incoming stock workflow including in receiving, dating, and storing.
Staff Management & Development
- Lead, mentor and provide management oversight for staff Responsible for setting objectives, evaluating performance and developing staff
- Identify opportunities for advancing staff skills
May include other responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree preferred or a minimum of 3 year's experience in event planning and/or hospitality management required.
- Minimum 5 years hospitality/ culinary experience required.
- Minimum 3 years supervision experience required.
- Knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe Reader and Outlook) required.
- Audio/Visual experience preferred.
- Knowledge of all food sanitation and safety procedures with basic safety and food serving certifications required.
- Must be extremely service oriented, dependable and communicate with all levels of staff and management.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
The salary range for this position is $81,600 - $108,120. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
