Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice RN to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a hospice setting, ensuring comfort and dignity during their end-of-life journey. This role requires strong clinical skills, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Perform specimen collection processing and maintain accurate medical records.
- Utilize Cerner for documentation and tracking of patient information.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding end-of-life care options.
- Monitor patient conditions, including ventilatory support and trauma medicine as needed.
- Assist with gastric lavage procedures when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to hospice care.
- Collaborate with behavioral health specialists to address psychological needs of patients.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of practice.
- Experience in hospice or palliative care preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding is a plus.
- Familiarity with durable medical equipment (DME) management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate approach towards patient care with a focus on comfort and quality of life.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development related to hospice nursing practices.
