Position Summary | The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world's preeminent scientific and cultural institutions, and has as its mission to discover, interpret and disseminate information about human cultures, the natural world and the universe through a wide-ranging program of scientific research, education and exhibition. The Event and Conference Services (ECS) department is seeking a full-time Senior Event Manager. The Senior Event Manager schedules internal meetings, programs, and events and coordinates requirements for them. The Senior Event Manager coordinates and carries out external events to generate revenue and meet Museum goals. They promote the Museum as an event venue to external clients while resolving operational issues, highlighting the Museum's unique resources. Applicants should be focused on great customer service and be dedicated to meeting client expectations by building effective relationships and completing projects to the highest standards. They should possess excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, project management skills, organizational skills and be able to balance multiple tasks and project timelines. The ability to lead projects, while focusing on the details, from planning through execution, is another highly-valued quality. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
The expected salary range for the Senior Event Manager is $75,000/annual - $80,000/annual. The AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community. Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience. |
